One of my absolute favorite aspects of my job as a photographer is one of the most overlooked by other photogs…and that’s actually getting to know your clients! Building relationships and truly getting to know their likes, dislikes, passions and personalities. You just cannot shoot a wedding without knowing your couple’s style and without observing the personalities of their family members…it just isn’t possible unless you want to leave capturing their true selves to chance! So at my initial meeting with Windy and Steve at their beautiful home, I was so excited to casually chat with them, learn about Windy’s preferred photography style and of course the details of how the couple met. Sweet and traditional but with senses of humor that had me laughing from the beginning of the meeting until the end, I completely fell for this couple! I knew already that come wedding day, Windy and Steve’s mellow and down-to-earth personalities would radiate in their photos…and they so did! Plus I was SO excited when Windy told me she wanted to do a first look (photographer’s dream and emotional ovelroad!) As if my heart hadn’t exploded already, I stole the couple away quickly to get their portraits done before guests arrived (this actually included my driving a golf cart…yes.) With the golden glow peaking from behind the mountains, it made for the perfect wedding dat setting. Romantic and soft, we were in a dream! Surrounded by their family and friends on one of the most gorgeous nights I’ve ever witnessed, they became Mr. and Mrs. in a heavenly outdoor ceremony!
