I can usually get a good sense of who my clients are prior to their event, especially if we do a separate portrait session and really get into deep conversation! Even just speaking over the phone allows me to read into a client’s energy, their style and the hopes for their event. Come the day of the event, whether we’ve already met or not, I know my clients’ personalities, insecurities and vision for their images. The only thing greater than this is when more is revealed during the actual event!! Usually during speeches or while the montage is playing, new things are revealed and I have yet to be underwhelmed by the stories and pure beauty in what I’m learning about each family. During the speech portion of Shai’s Bar Mitzvah, I learned that he and his twin were born so early that he weighed under 2lbs!! Amazingly, this sweet and stoic boy defied the odds and celebrated his football-themed Bar Mitzvah surrounded by the love of family and friends. Happiness and strength all around! Go, Shai!!
