I spend so much time talking and planning with clients before the wedding that when the day finally arrives, I don’t just feel like I know them, I do know them!! Because I’m so dedicated to making sure my clients’ wedding day vision and wishes happen, planning is always on overdrive; it’s not unusual for me to talk to my brides more than my own family!! Planning takes time and a lot of correspondence and aside from an engagement session, spending this vital time with my clients helps me get to know them the most. So when Gabi told me that she wanted to do portraits at Rye Playland, we got the ball rolling. Most popular venues require photography permits to shoot there so you really need to get on it well-before the wedding to make sure everything is set ahead of time. After months (literally, months) of back-and-forth with the County of Westchester and my business insurance and the actual park, we finally got our permit!! And how incredibly worth it because Gabi and Mike totally could not have chosen a more unique, colorful and more vibrant location for their post-ceremony portraits. I’ve shot at a lot of different locations but this might just be one of my all-time favorites just for the fun alone!! And what makes this wedding itself truly beautiful is the fact that it features a gorgeous blend of delicate, vintage glam with pops of unexpected color…all while staying subtle and romantic. I could have photographed these wedding details forever!! With a wedding so unique but timeless, it’s easily one of my favorites. And as if this couple and their family and friends weren’t amazing enough…Mike’s mom told everyone the most hysterical story about randomly meeting DMX outside of Panera Bread and so on the day of the wedding, whenever Gabi started to tear up, everyone would say “No crying…think of DMX!”….including me!! Everything about this wedding…the details and the laughs and the overwhelming love just made it the best day, ever. Congratulations, Gabi and Mike!!
