Newborn/baby sessions are really a “hidden menu” option for me except for former wedding clients, family and friends. While I loved doing newborn photography years ago, weddings and proposals have taken over! So it really is a treat when couples whose weddings I shot years ago call me to tell me that they are expecting. The relationships I build with every client makes them feel like family…and meeting their little babe is always an honor and SO much fun; but nothing will ever be able to top photographing my own family. When we found out that baby Fiona was coming, our entire family was literally beside themselves. We’re a small fam and we don’t have a lot of babies around…so a huge deal became ever huger!! I have been busting to photograph this adorable little girl since before I even saw her sweet face!! I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for a session in my entire career…partly because post-session, Fiona and I hung out while mom and grandbird went out for a bit. Even though she slept through our girls time, baby Fiona was wide awake for portraits; she cooed and kicked her way through her session…flashing us an occasional little smile! I’m totally biased but this sweet little thing was a perfect model…I have yet to see a baby so alert and mellow, let alone one who lasts a full 1.5 hour session. A dream baby!
