The only thing better than being a guest at your longtime friends’ wedding…is still being their engagement photographer!! Pedro, Evania and I go way back…we all went to school together!! So when they got engaged and told me I wouldn’t be shooting their wedding because they wanted me to relax and enjoy their big day, it meant so much more to me than if they had asked me to be their wedding photog. Seriously!! I’m so happy for these two and being able to witness their love and joy on their wedding day without the pressures of working just brought me so much happiness. I truly cannot wait for this wedding!! And the fact that Pedro and Evania still asked me to do their engagement portraits made everything even sweeter and more fun; truly the best of both worlds!!

Evania and Pedro chose the Piermont Pier in New York for their session and to say that we used up every last bit of gorgeous sunlight that we had would be an understatement!! The glow and the breeze during this sunset session was a dream. Could you ask for more when you’re shooting on a beach??

Evania wore the most beautiful, flowy white top which (I know you guys know where I’m going with this already!) reminded me of our wedding day veil shots!! It added so much to their portraits…so beautiful!! And because my couples are always rockstars at their sessions…I asked if Pedro and Evania wanted to get on the beach for some romantic shots in the sand.. they said YES!! With them tucked away behind the reeds surrounding the beach, you’d never know that these two weren’t alone. Not only were we so NOT alone, but hundreds of people were packed onto that pier!

I had SO much fun shooting this session and the fact that we were able to chat and catch up and talk all-things wedding made the day that much more special. And the fact that I know these two so well, I’m glad I was able to capture their TRUE smiles!! I couldn’t be happier for this amazing couple and I cannot wait to celebrate with them next year. Congratulations, Pedro and Evania! xo

P.S. Just for laughs! See some fun (and funny) facts about this session in the captions under some of their portraits! Enjoy!

The Pier isn’t known for having a lot of color…no real flowers or plants. So when in doubt…BRING YOUR OWN!

Before I left home, I grabbed some flowers out of a bouquet I had. A little something extra pretty for my composition and foreground? Done!

There are SO  many people, cars, dogs, bikes, etc. behind those reeds!!

A pretty petal toss from my bouquet! So much glow and just the right amount of pink!

This pretty composition MAKES this portrait! So light!

“Can you hold this for a second?”

Pedro posed this ring shot!! AMAZING!!

The bouquet wins again!! These ring shots would have been so colorless and dull. Fixed!

Fisherman everywhere? You’d never know!!
