The entire purpose of gifting an engagement session to our wedding clients is not only to welcome them to our business and get them excited for the big day, but to get to know them; I learn so much about my couples during the engagement session and it ultimately makes their experience with us on their wedding day that much more enjoyable and fulfilling. During each engagement session, if I haven’t already, I ask how they met, how he proposed and I get them talking!! Not only do I need to know these things, but it’s also a creative and fun way to get the clients comfortable and to feel like they’ve known me since forever. The engagement session is when I try out my standard (and vast!!) array of poses and see which ones are hits and which ones are misses; everyone is different and when you know which poses make your bride radiate with confidence, you’re golden!! I first met Cara and Brian while they were guests at a wedding we were shooting last year and I love, LOVED their chemistry together!! I captured so many great shots of them dancing because they were just so light and fun. It didn’t surprise me at all when Cara and Brian nailed every pose during their engagement session!! Literally, it’s like the poses were made for Cara especially. And it also helped that these two asked to finish our Central Park session by the water at sunset….glowiness and great, natural poses galore!! I had so much fun with Cara and Brian (Brian could seriously do stand-up comedy…he’s hysterical!!!) and they’re portraits show off their personalities to a tee!! I cannot wait for the wedding; so much love and laughs!
